Is it safe to do online shopping if your computer detected a virus?

Question: Is it safe to do online shopping if your computer detected a virus?

(Posted by: Teto on 2010-01-07 17:47:14)

I ran a scan with Trend Micro and it did detect a virus, it deleted it though. But earlier Trend Micro detected 2 other viruses on my computer, I looked up the viruses on Trend Micro's website, and they both dont seem to pose a serious threat. The one that was deleted was a trojan virus, but i'm a bit worried...What do you think? Thanks BTW Before I deleted the virus, it said that it passed a potential security risk...Is that bad? Sorry but I don't know alot about computers =P thanks though!

If the virus wasn't a security threat or masking another virus or other malware you should be OK. But, run trends on-line housecalls scan until no more issues pop up. Also run Spybot search and destroy, Adaware, And malwarebyte anti-malware. up date all definitions and run till your clean. The you should be safe Visit my Site at itsaboutwirelessnetworks.com and tell me if you like it or not. Do me a favor and check out my ads because I can't or I'll get banned from my advertisers. Especially google ads. I'd love to know if they are any good! email me at scottgalichus@comcast.net and let me know what you think.

Use combofix from bleepingcomputer.com, then go download malwarebytes from softpedia.com or cnet.com and use it(rename the installer if it doesn't let you install it such as winlogon.exe), then clean the rest of the virus with superantispyware and Hitman Pro 3.5 from softpedia.com/ cnet.com and just in case you do have a rootkit on your system use GMER from majorgeek.com(Use gmer to scan and anything in red delete.) Future Protection use this wizard to recommend security protection for your system: techsupportalert.com/ secwiz Never put your banking account or credit card when infected, it's never safe.
