Lets try and make this simple Say the opening bid is 99p Bidder 1 put in £20.00 The bid will show as 99p to Bidder 1 Bidder 2 puts in £5.00 Bidder 2 will be immediately outbid to Bidder 1 The bid will now show as £5.50 So until any bidder hits £20.01 Bidder 1 will always be winning, and then it goes on Of course none of you will know what Bidder 1's maximum bid is (nor will the seller) A good tip is to bid your maximum amount/ bid 1 minute to the end (not to chip at it in small amounts) then if you are outbid someone thought it was worth more than you were willing to pay. Or use a free sniping/ bidding programme to do it for you at the last 5 seconds. It will also safeguard you against 'shill bidding' (the seller or a freind of his bidding on his items to push the price up) |
